  • “Says the one who’s cheek is torn; if that doesn’t heal up or get covered, it might stir up unnecessary trouble. And besides…” The Sithis mused, taking another glance around them to make sure no one was to close. “…If I thought it would be a waste or to much for me to handle, I wouldn’t have offered. Magicka can always be replenished after all.”

She took one last glance around before taking a step closer to Karin. “An old payphone is probably a block or two away, so not far but we’d still need to be careful.” If it still worked that is. In this age of technology, it was difficult for her to know what was or wasn’t outdated yet. “Otherwise I could try to find a burner phone to use. Who do you need to call?”

  • “It’s the simple things that can get oneself found out and killed,” especially when they weren’t simply human; so a healthy dose of paranoia usually went a long way in ensuring survival. Giving Karin a nod, she immediately made her way towards the human, healing spell in hand. The thought of casting a ‘cure disease’ spell flickered briefly before Sithis decided against it. The man didn’t seem in good shape health wise if his home, let alone his blood, was any indicator; so the man miraculously seeming healthier along with the healed injuries would probably tip someone off.

The healing spell itself hummed with a golden glow in her hand, gold ribbons of energy weaving this way and that in and out of the small ball of light in the center. With an outstretched arm she casted it, letting it flow into the man as it did it’s best to heal his injuries and recover his vitality. It only took a minute for the spell to do it’s job, retracting itself back to her palm when it healed all it could physically; letting her dismiss the spell and lower her arm.

“Done. He should feel better when he eventually wakes up…”

Yet she still felt to alert to be comfortable; her nerves on edge from the hunters. Usually she didn’t feel like this, not since she was newly turned, but this was a new land for her and she didn’t know exactly how well equipped or not people were yet. Not like the Dawnguard at least.

“I’m fine physically, nothing the shadows haven’t healed by now…” A gift of her brand of vampirism she was thankful for, though she wish she could say the same for the bullet holes dotting her clothes. “…Past that, just nerves, Paranoia runs strong in the Volkihar clan. Blessing and a Curse depending on how you look at it.”

    "This is nothing," she replies.

Karin would undoubtedly like to have her face fixed. It's not like it'll scar either way because that's just not how vampirism works, but it'll burn a lot of blood to regenerate, and sickly blood, while operable, is comparable to junk food. It does less than protein-rich food.

However, she imagines it would take a lot out of Sithis to heal her face. Karin doesn't know shit of thaumaturgy or magic or whatnot, but she knows all things come at a price, and given there's still work to be done staging a robbery and dodging the wannabe Van Helsings that fucked up her face, it doesn't seem prudent to waste energy on her face just yet.

"More importantly, have you seen a phone here?" Technically, Karin is forbidden from the use of technology as a member of the Camarilla, but there's no way she's stealing a car when they're being actively persued.

  • “I do actually…” Ombretta handed Jewel the handbook; it had the width and the height of a usual notebook, but thicker like a hardback. “…For today I want you to hang back, help the cooks, and study this. This is the Handbook on how to interact with both the types of employees and customers. Later in the evening however, I’ll have you up front with me where I’ll be teaching you how to make and serve our drinks as a barista…”

Leaning against the doorframe, she smiled and waved at a few of the cooks coming in to set and start up. Her gaze however soon returned to Jewel as she spoke in a more serious tone.

“I respect you to much to sugarcoat this, so as you might of guessed, I employ all sorts of people; some are from the Yakuza, other smaller gangs, and even some assassins here along with the occasional college student. The cafe itself is a Neutral Ground for good reason, and that there book will help in reading in certain situations, procedures, or ‘requests’ amongst all the different kinds of people here.”

  • Returning the grin with a smile of her own, Ombretta gave Jewel a nod. “Good. They’re all setting up right now, you’ll primarily be reporting to Balagog; he’ll be the older gentleman with the underbite and the beard; he’s strict but a damn good cook.”

Getting off the doorframe, she turned to leave to room.

“If you need for help or any questions, I’ll be out front setting up as well. Welcome to the team Miss Jewel, I hope you’ll be able to work with us for a long time.”

from vampire karin for vampire sithis; Karin blows a bloodied loogie on the dirt floor. "Fuck, that was unpleasant." Their snack has had a cold for a few days now. Blood's bad, but Karin isn't doing so hot either. A piece of her cheek is torn. But she's nothing if not polite, offering Sithis their snack.

  • At the moment, Sithis had been more preoccupied with clearing evidence; shifting certain signs to make it look like a simple mugging. Moving stray blood from point A to point B wasn’t particularly hard given the right spells, but it was tedious and a bit tricky; especially when trying to avoid any potential cameras or stray person.

But soon enough, the Volkihar was brought back to attention; once she was satisfied enough with her work. Looking back at Karin, she gave a polite smile.

“Thank you,” she took the body carefully, as to not create any more unneeded damage, her gaze briefly flickering between the human and her.

As Sithis bit down to drink, she tried not to wince at the taste. Definitely not her favorite, but beggars can’t be chooser; and she was more thankful that she couldn’t be affected by or contract diseases anymore.

She handed the body back soon enough, though she hadn’t drank much. Looking at Karin’s cheek, she figured the other would need the blood more than her, Sithis could always hunt more later if her hunger to much.

“You want me to heal that for you? I know a few spells that should help.”

    ========

It was weird for Ombretta to be feeling nervous; after all, this was her giving her friend a job. She supposed it could have been the nerves of the handbook in her hands, updated for interactions and protocols amongst both civilians, officials, and the less savory types that frequented the cafe.

Between the gangs, Yakuza, Assassins, and other shady individuals; she tried her best to write down and refine what she knew to the best of her ability. She just hoped after studying it that Jewel would be scared off. But, she held onto the hope it wouldn’t be the case.

Then she heard it, the signal. Shaking off her nerves and straightening out her uniform, she had went to go open the door for Jewel.

“Glad you can come! I have the study materials here and we have a area in the back for you to pick your uniform and store your belongings.”
